What’s with the car?
Here’s some news for T.E Computer and IT students, the PDC/DCOM printed journal sheets arrived today, so expect some more work in the next couple of days lol.
The stack of PDC/DCOM journal sheets kept behind Fr. Fabian’s desk.
Here’s an interesting story which you ought to hear.
You must have heard lots about the language problem in South India and how people are so adamant when you can’t speak their language. I’ve had the opportunity to have experienced this myself when nobody was giving my road directions in Cochin when I asked them in Hindi and in English. Anyway, we had to call a certain company regarding the Industrial Visit because their fax machine wasn’t working. Those f%@*@(g b@$%@*%s never replied when we asked them in English and cut the phone abruptly each time we called. Fortunately, getting more and more agressive with each phone finally worked.
Excerpts from the scores of conversations:
1)
Us: "Hello, I’m calling from XIE, Mumbai."
Them : *hangs up*
2)
Us: "Hello, I’m calling from XIE, Mumbai. We’re unable to fax a document to you. Can I have an alternate fax number?"
Them : "No Sir." *hangs up*
3)
Us: "We’re calling from Mumbai and we can’t fax an important document. Any alternate means of sending it?"
Them: "Fax machine not working." *hangs up*
4)
Us: "Why isn’t your fax working? Can we speak to your Manager or have her contact information"
Them: "We don’t have another fax machine." *hangs up*
5)
Us: "Could we have the phone number or email address of <Manager’s Name>?"
Them: "<provide email address.>"
6)
Us: (from another number) "&^#(*&$(*7 (*&(*&(#* ^&*&(*&( *&((*@)"
Them: "I’m sorry?"
It was pretty obvious that they weren’t co-operating because we weren’t talking in Tamil.
If you don’t believe this, sign-up for the Industrial Visit (oops, it’s a bit too late for that
) and talk to any stranger on the road for directions although the problem is not so grave in Bangalore.
Anyway, let’s leave it at that. On my way back to the station, I noticed a BMW 780i with some weird contraption on top of it. I couldn’t tell what it was but I did notice a wire coming out of it and going back inside a car.
Any idea what it might have been? Check the pics and add your comments.

dats a dish tv reciever. it allows u to watch tv in the car and is available in two forms – the normal and the premium (which, if u havent figured it out yet, is priced at a premium… ;P…tho it offers more channels).
