The S.E.XIE Blog is Back

I would have called this page Disclaimer or even Terms and Conditions, but based on my past experience I have come to realise that no matter how academically qualified someone is, posts and pages with such titles and content are almost always conveniently ignored.

There have been people who only choose to see what they want to see, and a result they blow things out of proportion by complaining to the college authorities, who also take decisions without reading the blog post completely.

I had to apologise to people whom I hadn’t even mentioned in my posts, let alone offend.

My post’s content gained so much popularity even though nobody even cared to see it, including the college principal. I was given a week’s suspension until I offered to shut down the blog as an alternative punishment.

I realised that it was also my fault for not rubbing the disclaimer on every reader’s face before they get to the blog posts.

And that’s how things are going to be now.

I have been known to give freedom when it comes to questioning my posts or on the content of comments but this time I have set a few terms and conditions which you MUST agree to if you wish to read my blog.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

• You shall not make any judgement or comment unless you read the post in its entirety. If you have to report anything to the college authorities, please ask them to read the blog post. Unfortunately, information passed by word of mouth holds more value to them than written material.
• If you find something questionable, clarify it with me before heading straight for the authorities.
• I shall not take any responsibility for the ‘damages’ caused by any rumour arising as a result of any post.
• I am not responsible for any information or content submitted by another author to this blog.
• I am in no way responsible for any comment posted on this blog, anonymously or otherwise.
• I might mention a few names in direct reference to a particular event. By naming them I do not intend to hurt or offend anyone and if the person in question takes offence, I will be more than glad to remove his/her name from the post.
• No member of the staff is to be held responsible for anything with reference to the blog.
• If I have not mentioned anybody’s name in a post, there is no possible way that I could have offended them. This sounds obvious, but I was asked (by someone who hadn’t read the blog in the first place) to apologize to the entire canteen staff  for ’supposedly’ offending them in the blog when I had not even mentioned a word about the canteen. Read the Revived Archives Section for Proof.
• I am not responsible for anything categorized under Revived Archives. These posts belonged to the original Blog era before it was put to rest.
• I respect the staff, the administrative panel, the non-teaching and clerical staff and the college more than anyone else. I never manipulate information to reduce the reputation of our College. Any information or content that is published on this website may not be true. You should be fully aware of this fact while reading the blog.
• Do not  question my dedication to the college and its students. I hate to say this but I’ve done a hell lot more for XIE than you could have ever imagined to do, and just because I don’t like bragging about everything I do (unlike some others), doesn’t mean that I don’t do anything for the college.
• This Blog is likely to contain offensive words and is not intended to hurt any person.
• The purpose of this blog is to maintain a review of a student’s point of view on everyday matters in college, and not to point out and curse every mistake the college is making.
• You don’t have to agree with my opinions but you must respect them.

I do agree that my terms and conditions is to an extent, overkill. But if you experienced the same unwarranted bullshit that I had, you would know this is entirely justifiable.

My country guarantees freedom of speech and while I exercise it to the full extent I also realize that the right to speak does not include the right to be heard. If you disagree with even a single condition, please leave this website.
